Peppered chicken strips & red capsicum

Servings 4 people


  • 3 chicken breasts sliced thinly
  • 4 tsp plus 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine
  • 3 tsp cornstarch
  • 5 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion sliced into thin strips
  • 1 large red capsicum sliced into thin strips
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp chilli flakes more if you like it with a lot of heat or less if you don’t


  • Slice chicken breasts into thin strips. Place in a bowl and add 4 tsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp cornstarch, and black pepper.
  • Ina small bowl mix remaining soy sauce,2 tbsp cornstarch, 1 tbsp water. Set aside
  • Heat a wok on high. Add 1 tbsp oil to wok, add chicken strips and cook in batches till lightly golden and chicken is cooked. Put on a plate and repeat till all chicken is cooked.
  • Add 2 tbsp oil to wok cook sliced onion & capsicum cook for 1 min, add chicken strips, add soy mix, chilli flakes and cook till slightly thickened. Serve with rice. Serves 4
