Gingerbread Cookies


        Ingredients


        400g plain flour
        1 tsp baking soda

        1 tsp cinnamon

        3 tsp ground ginger
        1 tsp ground allspice

        110g brown sugar

        4 Tbsp golden syrup
        1 egg

        75g unsalted butter, melted


        Method


        Pre-heat oven 190C.

        Sift baking soda and spices together in a bowl.


        Add sugar, golden syrup, egg and butter and mix to a smooth batter.


        Chill the dough until firm.

        Roll out the dough onto a lightly floured surface to 6mm thickness.


        Cut out the ginger bread using a cookie cutter of your choice.


        Bake for 8-10 minutes.

        Cool on a wire rack and decorate.
