Ingredients

  • 4 sheets frozen puff pastry
  • 500 grams lamb mince
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • 2 tbsp veg oil
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 brown onion chopped
  • 1/2 tsp crushed chilli
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  • Pre heat oven to 200 C. Peel carrot, potato, cut into cubes of the same size, add peas and cook till soft.
  • Chop onion and garlic, cook in veg oil on low heat to soften. Add lamb mince and cook till meat is cooked.
  • Add salt and pepper, smoked paprika, tomato paste and chilli to meat. Add mixed vegetables and lastly currants and mix to combine. Allow to cool.
  • Roll out pastry to squares add filling, fold up like a parcel and put parcels with the seams underneath.
  • Add egg wash to top of parcels and sprinkle nigella or sesame seeds on top.
  • Put on a tray with parchment paper and bake 30-35 minutes or until golden in colour. Makes 8
