Sweet Short Crust Pastry (Very Short)
This recipe is a very short crust pastry. It cannot be rolled with a rolling pin. You need to line your tart or pie dish by push small pieces into the dish. This is enough to make 1 x 10" dish.
Ingredients
- 250 grams plain flour
- 120 grams unsalted butter softened
- 100 grams icing sugar soft
- pinch salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Place butter and icing sugar in bowl and beat till mixed and creamy. Add egg yolk and vanilla extract. Gently mix in flour and salt. Once it starts to come together finish mixing by hand. Chill for 20 minutes then use as needed. Best way is to grab small balls and push into dish to spread out with fingers. Bake 20 minutes at 190 C, or till lightly golden.
