Beef and Chorizo Sausage Roll


The duo of chorizo and beef in a pastry case.

  • 500 grams beef mince

  • 2 chorizo sausage, skin removed

  • 1 large onion, finely chopped

  • 2 carrots, grated

  • 1/2 cup store brought grilled red peppers in oil

  • 1/2 tsp chilli flakes

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • Spices 1 tsp ground coriander, ground cumin, smoked paprika

  • salt and pepper

  • Either use homemade puff pastry or store brought


  • Preheat oven to 200 C.
  • Mix beef mince and chorizo together. Add spices, chilli flakes, breadcrumbs, egg and seasoning. Mix all together until all combined.
    Form into three logs.
  • Roll out pastry quite thin and spread sausage log onto pastry and seal like making a sausage. Repeat this with the rest of the sausage meat and pastry. When all are done, roll together to form a round spiral.
    Brush with egg wash and dust smoked paprika on top. Bake for 1 hour or until pastry is cooked.
  • Can serve this with green salad.
